Abstract
GC was applied to the determination of 12 volatile organic compounds from the surface coating of automobiles. Volatile ogranic compounds (VOCs) in the sample was adsorbed by activated charcoal and desorped by carbon disulfide. The analytes were separated on DB-WAX capillary chromatographic column (30 m×0.32 mm, 0.25 μm) and detected by FID. Linear relationships between values of peak area and mass concentration of the 12 VOCs were kept in the same range of 1.00-100 mg·L-1, with detection limits in the range of 0.012-0.100 mg·m-3. On the base of a blank sample, test for recovery was made by standard addition method; values of recovery found were in the range of 67.0%-107%, with RSD′s (n=6) in the range of 1.8%-8.6%.
